When your bail application is rejected by the High Court, you still have one more option — you can go to the Supreme Court of India in New Delhi. This is done by filing a Special Leave Petition (SLP) under Article 136 of the Constitution.
Advocate Arvind Kumar practises in both Patna High Court and the Supreme Court. He handles Supreme Court bail matters and appears personally in Delhi for these hearings. This is a big advantage for clients from Bihar who need help at the national level.
What is an SLP for Bail?
SLP stands for Special Leave Petition. When a High Court refuses to grant bail, the accused can file an SLP in the Supreme Court asking for bail. The Supreme Court has the power to grant bail in any case across India. It also has the power to cancel bail if it was wrongly granted.
Who Should File?

- Anyone in a serious case like murder, NDPS, or POCSO where High Court bail was refused
- Anyone who has been in jail for a long time without trial completing (default bail / BNSS Section 479)
