Stages of Criminal Defence
Stage 1: Arrest & Remand
The first 24 hours after arrest are very important. We appear at the magistrate hearing and argue against unnecessary police remand. We ensure the accused is treated properly and their rights are protected from the start.
Stage 2: Bail
Getting bail is often the first goal. We file bail applications quickly and argue strongly in court. The sooner the person is out of jail, the better they can help in preparing their own defence.
Stage 3: Trial
During trial, we cross-examine witnesses, challenge weak evidence, and build a strong case. We study every document and find the gaps in the prosecution’s case.
Stage 4: Appeal
If the trial court gives a judgement against you, we file an appeal in the High Court or Supreme Court. We do not give up even after a lower court decision.
Every case is different. We study your case carefully before advising you on the best way forward.
